the moon knows my heart
fynn - others The word in the wind was that peaks of Benlin Rise were unforgiving with their endless blizzards and treacherous passes. While it still snowed daily in the summer months, the storms were tamer- the passes actually clear for a few short weeks. With fall creeping down the slopes, those paths had long blown closed, to attempt to cross them would already be death for most creatures. Fynn was desperate but not crazy, desperate for a meal, to make it down the slopes before the storms regained their true strength and buried her in snow. She had been vaguely following a river as she traveled south, if anyone else was still up here, they would need water and so would their prey. If wouldn't be hard to pick up a trail and from there a blood scent and hopefully some meat. The ice covered slopes weren't exactly generous in terms of berries or eggs now that warm season was fading. She smelled it before she picked up anything visually, nostrils flaring as icy eyes darted over the snow, scanning the sparse evergreens. Her thin tawny frame was a smudge in the landscape as she paused to scent the winds once more. She snorted to herself and padded softly towards the trees, using what little cover they offer as she followed the steadily growing evidence of a passing bull moose. Her ears flattened in concern, unsure of who's body she was tracking but she continued on none the less, the grumbling in her stomach urging her. It wasn't much longer until she was crouching in the branches of pine trees, the gory scene laid out below her. The remains of the moose rested there... smoking? She squinted and titled her head confused at what could have caused a fire up here. She scanned the area, following the large wolf prints around. He, yes he by the musk mixed in with the smoke and blood... Fynn shifted nervously but the pain in her gut was too much. She crawled out from her cover and approached the carcass... there was plenty left and wasn't that old. Another pause to look around her before tearing into the remaining meat, it wasn't much but she was small and learned to take what she could when she could. The wind stirred, pulling and blowing her sandy coat but her brain was lost to the feast, her nose too caked in blood to warn her of danger. |

when you feel my heat He was home, or at least what he considered home. Up on the mountain top high above everything. It was where he knew he was alone, no one ever came as high as the peaks but for him it was where he stayed. Rarely did he go down lower to the ground, but when he did it was for a hunt. Just a few hours ago he had taken down a bull moose, it wasnt a hard kill since he normally waited for the creatures to lower their gaurds and then he would just go straight for the throat. Once he got the moose down he used his fire to singe the fur off so it was easier to get to the flesh. Calix hated dealing with the fur on his meals so he used his powers to remove it all. Purple ears flicked as he laid up on his ledge that was just above his kill. Just behind him was a small cave enterance that was his den where he and era stayed at night. Inside the den was a pile of pelts that he had kept from past kills when he was making his bed.
Curled up in the center of the bed was a small ball of white fur that was happily sleeping. Her stomach was full and she was able to sleep. The large male turned back and smiled, it made him happy to know that she was able to sleep contently. Era was the only thing that mattered to Calix, she ment everything to him. Granted she drove him crazy but she also kept him sane, a small smile crept over his face as he turned back to look over his meal just under him. Tho the ledge that he laid upon was a good 30 feet above his kill, he could see it clearly since the winds were not swirling around. Slowly he laid his head upon his left paw and rested for a moment. It was only up here that he could fully relax, knowing that no wolf in their right mind would come up this high. But that was all a mistake the scent of another rushed his nose as he lifted his head up quickly and looked around.
Who was stupid enough to come up here? Blue eyes looked around and soon drifted down to where the left over meal was. He watched as a wolf crawled out from where ever they where hidding and began to feast upon his moose. A smirk crossed his maw as he placed his head between his paws and just watched. He wouldnt startle the creature just yet, he wanted to see what the wolf did. Would they fill their belly and then carry on or would they try to locate who killed the moose? After all a bull moose was a dangerous creature for a single wolf to take down but if one was smart enough they could do it. Slowly he began to slink aroundthe ledge to where he could make his way down to the ground. As he reached the ground, blue flames began to cover the ground around him as he slowly made his way towards the wolf again. Calix's movement was slow as he closed in on the wolf that was feasting upon the moose's body.
Just as he came around the side of the ledge his flames died out and disppeared into the air as he lifted his body up and snapped his jaws. "Well what do I have here? Have I caught a mouse?" his voice deep as he slowly made his way towards the smaller wolf. Look into my eyes |

fynn - others If Fynn wasn't so lost to the gore, she might have felt the male's heavy gaze, she might have seen his bulk leave the ridge high above her. The carcass was fresh, it's throat cleanly ripped out but the body otherwise untouched. A single hunter. Bells rang dimly in her head behind her need to eat as much as she could before- "Well what do I have here? Have I caught a mouse?" Her body dropped like a rock, crouching to become the smallest target possible but also coiled up, ready to spring away. Fynn's head snapped to the massive wolf that had come down from the ledge. Ice blue orbs briefly flashed snow white before a blast of wind and ice sliced between them, the veil shadowing her sprint to the trees she had been initially hiding in. The snap was magic was wild and weak, barely hiding her tracks but all the same, it winded her. The female barely made it to the first trees where she crouched snow covered and panting, her ears straining for signs of the male. Stupid. Stupid. STUPID. She internally screamed at herself for not investigating first... Any kill that size would have been a massive pack or one hell of a powerhouse. The clean kill, the amount of meat left.... the freshness of the kill- she should have known they would still be around. She walked into her death. Tawny legs shook with cramps from exhaustion, she'd have to hide and regain her strength before fleeing completely. |

Calix Rae Kyrimm
when you feel my heat
Calix smirked slightly as he watched thesmall wolf quickly ground herself. Why was she up here? Was she following him? Was this the creature that seemed to be cleaning up his leftovers? But it was when the wind and the ice cracked before him was when he slightly stepped back. So she was a ice welder, interesting. Hadnt seen one of those for a long time then again he was a fire welder and was up in the snow. Blue flames ran along the ground around him making a circle. Soon normal fire began to erupt from his blue flames that raced out around the area. It seemed to close into the area around him going out about 1000 feet away from him. Making a secured area as he began to step towards where the female had darted off to. He wasnt stupid to the game that she tried to play with him. What she thought she would do wouldnt work on him. Calix wasnt going to back away from such a small wolf, specially one that thought she could swoop in and take his meal.
Granted he had left it alone, but none the less the kill was still warm to the touch. But that didn't say much, he was warm to the touch. Purple ears flicked on his head as he looked around, her tracks had been covered but her scent was still there. And any wolf that knew anything about tracking, the prints were not the only thing you went off of. It was the smell of the animal, ice blue eyes darted around looking around. He could see his flames closing in slightly as he moved. Soon he closed his ice-blue eyes and took in a deep breath as he began to slow his breathing even more. Blue flames began to slowly creep up his legs as he continued to walk forward. It wasn't long before that he came up to where she was hiding and just stood there for a moment. Calix lifted up his paw and pulled in his regular fire to encase the two of them. That way this tiny wolf wouldn't be able to escape him now.
Now granted Calix wouldn't harm the wolf, that wasn't who he was but he wanted to find out who the wolf was. If she wanted to leave he would allow her to do so. Plus he knew that soon Era would be awake and would not be found of how he was acting. Ears flattened slightly as he began to think about how Era would react. Calix stepped back from the female, he was sure that her abilities wouldn't hurt him, after all, it did seem like she couldn't control them anyways so he was pretty safe. Slowly the flames began to die down slightly, they were just lightly going, that way if she wanted to take off she would have the chance to. It wasn't soon after his flames went down was when he heard her voice. "STOP! Don't do that to her!" quickly calix turned his head to see his companion come flying down the ledge path and jump onto his back and then soon was on his head bitting down on his ear hard.
This made him yelp slightly as he lowered his head and whined some as he soon was just about kneeling to the ground. The small weasle let go of his ear and slid down to the ground and slowly made her way towards the small wolf. She sniffed slightly as she lowered her little frame to the ground. "Are you ok?" her voice was soft and friendly as he stayed flat agasint the ground. Era was fearless and at times she even suprised Calix. The large male had back away even more as he rubbed his ear. "You didnt have to bit me that hard you know." his voice was slightly hushed as he grumbled.

fynn - others He had tracked her scent, her fear. His flames had her surrounded, the ring closing in like a noose as he padded closer to her hiding place. She saw a flash of blue flames and curled up tighter on the fallen needles. If he hadn't spotted her yet, he could no doubt hear her pounding heartbeat and shuffling paws. Her crystal eyes peered up through the branches watching the wolf close in. Just when she thought it was all over, his flames died and he stepped back- hesitating. It only lasted a moment before he yelped and swung his head around and rubbing his ears. Under her tree, Fynn's ears popped up and her head tilted. Who's voice stopped the wolf... and what happened that made him yelp? "Are you ok?" The speaker wasn't immediately obvious to the young female, her eyes locked on the male half kneeling and nursing a dark ear. Something in front of her moved startling Fynn enough to break her cover. Her ice eyes jumped briefly to male who had backed away further grumbling to himself. No not himself, a ferret. A weasel was looking at her with an encouraging face. Snorting, Fynn dragged herself out from hiding and stood but submissively so, her head low gazing at the furry creature that had apparently swayed the male from attacking her. Occasionally, those clear eyes jumped to the violet wolf, watching his movements carefully. "I'm not hurt..." Her voice was clear but quiet. She shook the dead needles and snow from her tawny coat, the fur dull and flat doing nothing to hide her lean body and shallow ribs. The rich earthen stripes on her back only emphasized the many pounds she was missing. She wasn't near death yet, but it had been a week or two since her last decent meal. Stripping empty carcasses or licking the marrow from cracked bones could only support her for so long. Although she had been trailing a hunter all season, he either hid his meals well or didn't kill very often. |

Calix Rae Kyrimm
when you feel my heat
Era laid there as still as she could. After all the wolf that was before her was a stranger but she didnt care. It was nice to see another wolf around, it was nice to have Calix but it was even better when a new face showed up. She turned back to calix who was now sitting down with his tail laid over his paws. "You didnt have to scare her so badly Cal" era's voice was rather harsh as she rose her body up from the ground and slunk closer to the female. Looking over her body era was making sure nothing was burnt or out of place. Once she felt that she had looked over the female well enough she headed back over to Calix and ran up his leg. Once she got up to his shoulders she jumped up on his head and licked his ear. "Sorry about bitting you but it was the only way" Calix snorted some as he stood up and looked towards the female
"Sorry for scaring you. I just dont take well to strangers in my home" his deep voice rumbled as he bowed his head slightly as he turned back to the meal. But it wasnt before he looked at the female, she was nothing but skin and bones. How long had it been since she had eaten a decent meal? Calix sighed some as he padded back over to the bull. Dark maw clamped around the neck of the bull, lifting the carcaus up calix began to drag it back over to the female. Before long he had placed the bull just onfront of the tiny female. Calix licked his maw slightly to rid it of the blood that lingered from him biting it. "Eat" was all that he said before walking away to head back up to his ledge where he would look over the edge to smirk slightly as he disapeared into his den
Calix sniffed around slightly just looking for anything that would be helpful, but he knew that nothing in his den would be very helpful to the female. He Soon walked out but before he did he grabbed one of his deer pelts and tossed it over his back. Era looked at him with a confused looked "What are you doing?" she asked sliglty as she slid down his back and sat on the pelt. Calix looked at era and chuckled some, "It is cold, she wont do very well without this at least for the night till she can make herself a den". It was a rarity for him to show to much kindness but he had to make it up to her some how after all he was a little aggressive in the begining. Calix once again made his way down back to the female. Era jumped off and landed on the antlers of the moose. Her ice blue eyes looked over the creature.
"Can we keep the antlers cal?" she asked softly. Calix looked at the weasle and nodded. Era jumped for joy as she began to scurry around the horns. The large male soon grabbed the pelt from his back and tossed it towards the female. "Take that, you will stay warmer with it till you can make yourself a den"

fynn - others Satisfied that the ferret was no danger to her, Fynn's icy eyes focused on the male. He was the powerhouse she had been following all summer, his scraps had kept her alive without him knowing it. Scavenged meat was better than nothing for a wolf that didn't know how to hunt, a predator that never learned how to kill. It was a dangerous game that she had just been caught in, and survived? Her pale tail curled around her frame, subconsciously aware of his gaze on her skinny body. "Sorry for scaring you. I just dont take well to strangers in my home." The companion's voice made Fynn's ears flicker, but her eyes studied the male sitting so posed. Home? Who willingly chooses to live here? Her ice powers gave her an edge that let her tolerate the summer temperatures, but the autumn nights were already getting too cold her her. It was the main reason for her travels south the past week, the frozen winds pushing her towards the foothills and the damp forests. The small female tilted her head as the male dragged the kill over to her, his single word demand taking her aback.
She opened her mouth about to protest, her saude nose twitched at the smell of the moose and drool pooling in her mouth already. But he had wandered off to his den without another word. Only hesitating for a moment, Fynn tore into the carcass once again. The weasel seemed to be on her side but weasels are well.. weasels. They didn't getting a reputation for nothing. However, without her, Fynn would be a smoking body just like her meal. Large paws announced the return of the violet male shortly before he tossed a pelt toward her. "Take that, you will stay warmer with it till you can make yourself a den" The sudden gesture had her jumping to the otherside of the body in self defense, still unsure about this male. She kept back over to wear the pelt had landed and nudged it with her nose. It was nearly the same size as her and thick enough to keep her comfortable through the cold nights to come. A den was not always an option for a scavenger as their meals traveled as far or farther than the initial hunter did. Not that he knew that or probably cared but the pelt pulled over her at night when exposed or piled beneath her in a cave on a rare luxurious night. "Is this a trick?" She asked cautiously, pawing at the deer skin. "I mean... you would have roasted me if it wasn't for the ferret." Eyes darted to the skittering animal and added shyly. "Thanks by the way..." Fynn pulled another strip of meat from the body and chomped it down, blood soaking her maw, old and new. The food was clearly doing her well, her belly already visibly bulging with food. |
